2/17 Black History Project
1. You will create a timeline of a famous person/event that made an impact in black history.
2. You will write 1 paragraph explaining 1) who/what you chose and why you selected the person or event.
3. You will provide a list of your Internet sources and provide at least 10 key moments in the person's/event's lifespan. Your source list will contain both image and information web addresses.
4. Each event will consist of a date, an illustration, and a brief description.
5. You may use books, periodicals, and/or websites.
6. You must email the assignment to me at Elnora.Gavin@leonagroup.com by Friday, February 20, 2009.

In order for you to achieve success in the classroom, the environment must be safe and in order. How would you describe the classroom environment? What do you think needs to take place so that your classroom environment is of high quality? What steps will you take to ensure that your contribution to the class is positive? Write out a behavior contract for yourself in Microsoft Word. This contract should include behavior that you promise to exhibit in the class. Create lines for you, your parent and the teacher to sign and date. Include a relevant graphic in the upper center of the contract. Make sure you have answered the above questions in your contract. The heading should read, "Behavior Contract."

2/9/09 Group Assignment
A. Decide which assignment you would like to present to the class and with whom you would like to pair. No more than 3 members to a group. Reply to this post letting me know the members of your group and the number you selected. Be sure of who and what you select because you may not be able to change. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.
1. RIBBON - Explain to the class what the "Ribbon" is. Show where it is located. Demonstrate how tabs on the ribbon work. Be sure to require the class to practice using tabs on the ribbon in your presentation.
2. ACCESS KEYS - Explain to the class what "Access Keys" are. Tell why a user might want to use access keys. Demonstrate what key is used to activate access keys. Discuss what Key Tips are and demonstrate how they are used. Be sure to require the class to practice using access keys.
3. OFFICE BUTTON - Explain to the class what the "Office Button" is. Show where it is located. Show and tell what submeus and button icons. Be sure to require the class to practice using the office menu and submenus.
4. QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR - Explain to the class what the "Quick Access Toolbar" is. Show where it is located. Tell why the quick access toolbar is used.
